Da Lat University

Formation of Da Lat University

Under the plan of Da Lat in 1923 by Hesbrard Architects, a large area in the north of the city is reserved for the military zone. In 1930, a military camp was established on a 38-hectare high ground next to a golf course called Courbet Camp. In 1939, the camp was converted into a Junior School (Escole dé Enfants de Troupe). By 1957, Dalat University was established on the basis of this school, under the Catholic Bishops' Conference ownership of South Vietnam.

The University of Dalat is one of the most beautiful schools in the country with a very Dalat distinctive layout. : more than 40 large and small works hidden in the green area of nearly 30 hectares is suitable for study, scientific research.
